Desert Highlands - Golf Clinic

 

Desert Highlands Golf Club hosted the 2nd annual Golf Fore Africa Clinic on Monday, March 23rd, 2009. The golf clinic featured LPGA players Betsy King, Helen Alfreddson, Katherine Hull, Morgan Pressel, Angela Stanford, Nicole Castrale and Golf Channel commentator Kay Cockerill. This exclusive clinic featured the stars of the LPGA demonstrating the secrets of their game and sharing stories of their success. Over $41,000 was raised at the event.

In the last two years, sixty-five LPGA players have supported the Golf Fore Africa charity by donating their time and/or money to the cause. and the funds are supporting the building of a medical clinic in southern Rwanda serving a community of 24,000 with basic health care, maternity ward, and an HIV/AIDS center. The clinic will open in early 2010.
